Movies - AFI's 100 Movies

Once again, AFI has come out with the new list of Top 100 movies of all time. They do this every 10 yrs.Not much changed this time also. So it means, not many great movies got released in the last decade.Only two movies from the last decade has made it. "The Lord of the Rings:The Fellowship of the Ring"(2001) and The Sixth Sense(1999)
Citizen Kane still rules. The 1941 cult classic retains its numero uno spot for one more decade.
1. "Citizen Kane" (1941)
2. "The Godfather" (1972)
3. "Casablanca" (1942)
4. "Raging Bull" (1980)
5. "Singin' in the Rain" (1952)
6. "Gone With the Wind" (1939)
7. "Lawrence of Arabia" (1962)
8. "Schindler's List" (1993)
9. "Vertigo" (1958)
10. "The Wizard of Oz" (1939)
So my quest for watching all these great movies continues. Now out of this 100 I have watched exactly 35 out of it.Out of this top ten I have watched 9 and I own all the 9 Movies DVDs :-) ooops. Great going.

Photography - Lalbagh

So the hunt continues...next stop its LalBagh. The floral rich park in the heart of bangalore.
Chris told he will join me agan. But I made sure he got his batteries this time. After church and a big meal at Wanley's (Johny Spl), we started to Lalbagh. We started searching for flowers. ooops...No Flowers. Then finally we went to the nursery to shoot some flowers. Though not much of variery we got few good ones. We shot some natural beauties..here and there.
I dont think Natural Photography is that much easy. Its quite difficult. Have to learn and do R&D a lot. Practice is must. Need to try variety of things with the camera. Lets C..

Photography - Bannerghatta

So finally I got a Camera, a much awaited one, thanks to the short trip to Dubai. Eagerly waited for the first outdoor shootout. Decided to go to Bannerghatta. Its a short trip. Just 22 kms from Bangalore city. Me and Chris started from MG Road in his bike. 30 mins, we reached a hotel on the high way. Had lunch and started again. 1o more mins, we are in. We got the pass for Full Safari. And then it happend. Poor Chris. We are all set for our shoot. We started putting batteries and all. Alas !! Chris forgot to bring his Camera batteries. Oh my God !! Poor guy he is. So we just took mine and went for the safari. Nice ride it was. Got to see some deers, antelopes, tigers, boars, bison, lions, leopards and beers in the jungle. Got some nice pictures. Again I became a kid only in the van. Jumping from the back seat to right next to the driver. People started laughing at me. But still I loved it. We went to the zoo then. Took some pictures there. So it all started in Bannerghatta, my learning of Photography.

Oliver Twist !!

This is one story which fascinates me forever. So much is there in the story. Happiness...Hope...Sadness..Sorrow..Pain...Agony..Relief..You name it..its there. For a long time...I knew only one Orphan..thats poor little Oliver..I knew only one Evil Guy..Fagin...only one cruel animal..Bill Sikes..
Oliver is always one quite boy. But whenever he opens his mouth he gets into trouble.
"Please Sir, I want some more !! " - one of the most famous lines in the English literature.Trouble starts there and he goes all the way to Mr. Brownlow, suffering in all possible ways.

Artful Dodger...oops my most fav. character after Oliver.FAGIN and BILL SIKES.. the evil characters.

I watched the 1968 movie, Oliver! . Its a musical. Fantastic one. Everyone has played their role to the utmost perfection. Be it Lester as Oliver, JackWild has Dodger,Ron Moody has Fagin and legendary Oliver Reed as Bill Sikes. They say, Reed become famous just because of this role.As I love musicals, this is one more definitive in my movie collection.Recently I got an oppurtunity to watch a recent version. Ace Director Roman Polanski has made a movie Oliver Twist. Beautifully made but still it couldnt capture all the pain and agony which was superbly portrayed in the 1968 version. This one is so rich in colour and made with a big budget.
Its Ben Kingsley who has played the role of Fagin. But still I found something missing in this movie. Bill Sikes is not so scary as Oliver Reed was.One day If I happen to become a Director...I will make Oliver Twist...my fascination continues...

Crows in Office !!

You meet different kind of ppl in your working place. Some gud, some bad...some very good..some all shit..These ppl who are very good, whom you like..you love...with whom u make a very gud frndship..will be there till your end.Others move past you as one passing cloud.
This blog is all abt the last category..People whom I think..ALL SHITS !!
I always wonder abt these ppl. They are of completly diff. character. Entry level, you will have al possible leaders in your team.team leader, module leader, cubicle leader, project leader, group leader....ooo...soooo many leaders. You will be under these guys. The last category ppl, we can give them a nickname..hmm..CROWS ?? ok gud crows...we will call them crows.Team member to Group Leader...this is the source and destination. Now how you will go from source to destination??Real Talent and Fake talent...these two are the vehicles you are going to use to reach the destination.
These Crows are always very sharp. They know wats goin on around the project. They always make themselves visible by often crowing..(my slang for the sound of crow :-) )..werever you turn you can see them. Their relation with the so called higher level leaders will be more close. The boss will tell one so called Joke..Oh my God !! You just cant laugh even if you are given a crore !! , but still these crows will laugh like anything. It will surprise both the teller and laugher, why I told and Why I laughed ....but still this one laugh with your boss will always land you in a seat higher than ur peers. Whenever the boss say yes.. these crows will say yes..no for no.These crows doesnt have self dignity and their mind is always crooked. They talk one in front of you and something else on your back.
But Surprising thing is... these crows are the ones which will fly to the top without touching the middle branches. They are the ones, who reach the destination without travelling in the main road, instead they take the shortcuts. The Shortcuts.....these roads...very short..no obstacles..no pain..just you have to give up ur dignity and self respect.
This case surprises me and sometime makes me anger than ever.Is it the real scenario in all the offices...are there ppl who are made scapegoats for these crows??

The world will never change. As we move on from one generation to other, certain things always we leave behind such that the coming generation will pick up and take it along. Is this CURSE one among them??
Is it always you have to lick somebody's shoes to make your shoes shining??
Just one soul cant change this thing..One guy's shout will always go unheard..
Join me..!! Raise your voice !! Work for your HEART !!

Code of Dan Brown and Ron Howard

The Da Vinci Code..

Finally I have watched Da Vinci Code...and still I couldn’t find an answer y I watched it..

I am one TOM HANKS fanatic. which made me buy an Original DVD worth of 600rs and watch the worthless movie. This movie once again proves that, its very very difficult to make a movie out of a famous book..its difficult to make it more famous than its printed counterpart...and only a few lucky ppl in the world can make it..exception being Francis Ford Coppola (Godfather), Spielberg (Jaws)...blah blah...

One Question for Ron Howard, whom I respect more..who has given such wonderful movies like Apollo 13 and Beautiful Mind.. one qs.. Mr. Ron, before making the movie, did you think that only those who read the book should come and watch the movie ?
pls I need an answer for this one...somebody help me in finding out. This movie is one crap..a movie in which you cant understand a single line or single scene if you haven’t read the book...did Mr.Ron thought that before watching the movie, all the ppl will read the book and come and c... ooops huge blunder..but still the hype and the controversy made the movie a great hit(thats wat statistics say)..they made huge money out of this crap...

Coming to story line..they have changed a bit here and there..but certain things they have changed completely which looks ridiculous...like declaring that Jacques Sauniere is not the grandfather of Sophie..I don’t know wats the need to change the entire story line there...I think one of the most suspense and unexpected part in the story is declaration of Sir Leigh Teabing as the Teacher..but in the movie..there is no life at all for that scene..simply he gets up and looks...no life....as dull as anything...and one more thing is..wen Sophie comes to know that she is the descendant of Christ...no surprise in her face too...as if she knows everything already...Mr. Ron should have concentrated more on these things rather than giving some lenghty interviews...lots and lots of interesting things they have missed..for me, the only satisfying thing in the movie is the performance of Paul Bettany as Silas...fantastic performance..Tom Hanks failed..Audrey failed..Reno is ok and Ian is ok..

May be they should have done like wat Coppola did with Godfather...he knew its very difficult to tell everything in the book in a single movie, so he and Puzo masterfully divided the storyline into two and made Two masterpieces in two consecutive yrs.. Now I wont bet for Angels and Daemons (if they happen to make)..Thumbs down for Ron and Co...

Wat you say?
